If you’re reading this in the year 2026 or later, and you have a long memory or a penchant for the vintage, you may notice this site looks a little different.

The legacy server that was hosting the old blog seems to have disappeared, taking the original EMS Basics site (which has long been defunct, but maintained online—there’s still good stuff here) along with it.

I’ve done my best to salvage and restore the content using old backups, and re-host it on a server I control directly. Most of the site should now be accessible again. However, I no longer have access to the original WordPress theme, so it will look weird, and I’m not about to slave away polishing it again (sorry). You may also encounter some broken image links. However, all of the actual content should all work; do let me know if that’s not true.

My apologies! But it’s been over a decade, yeesh.
